Next-Gen Lenticular Labels Win International Print Competition

Adcraft Labels is proud to announce their next-generation lenticular labels have won Best of Category at the world’s most prominent international print competition, the 2019 Premier Print Awards.

The patented award-winning 3-D technology allows brand owners to create a lenticular type label that, unlike rigid, thick lenticular lenses, can be high-speed machine applied.

Adcraft won Best of Category in the Labels and Wraps–Rolled products/pressure-sensitive category for their Evlution Nutrition Pre-Workout ENGN® label. The proprietary technology used to create the label allows images and colors to shift, show depth, and create optical movement. This technology is truly the next generation of lenticular printing.

3-D Optical Depth Labels

In addition to the illusion of depth, these 3-D pressure-sensitive labels can create a floating effect in which graphics and images appear to be floating above the label. As the consumer holds your product in their hands they will actually move it back and forth and watch as the images float above the surface of the label.

These 3D labels can also be configured so that, as the product with the attached label is moved from side to side, the images appear and disappear. This will keep your customer engaged with your packaging and in turn with your product.

Understanding 3-D Labels

A study* in the Journal of Consumer Research found that “merely touching an object increases the feelings of ownership a person has for the object. This, in turn, results in a person being willing to pay more for most objects that they touch versus objects that they cannot touch.” The researchers also found that if people have a positive or neutral response to touching an object, they are willing to pay more for it. Because the Adcraft 3D labels can incorporate movement into the design, the consumer will interact with your packaging in order to make the images move across the label. Creative use of this ability can incorporate a bit of gamification into the label and thus have a positive effect on the consumer.
